wood stove hot water service – floor mounted

The Centra Coil tank is a purpose built mains pressure hot water tank, that is heated by a low pressure coil in the bottom of the tank.

All wood stoves or heaters with wet backs (hot water jackets) must run on low pressure, the Centa Coil tank uses a header tank in the ceiling for the gravity feed, and once the water in this is heated, a pump turns on to pump this hot water to the low pressure coil in the bottom of the tank.

The benefit is you now get pressure hot water (via your homes water pump, or your mains pressure supply)

how it works

the stainless steel hot water tank holds your homes hot water under pressure.
the heat from your stove or heater flows through a coil in the bottom of the tank at low pressure.
the heat from your coil heats the water in the tank

the plumbing on the tank is all set up for connecting to your wood stove.
there is an electric element for back up, and fittings to add solar back up

how does it work

the stove is plumbed into a 12ltr header tank above your stove.
a thermostat reads the water temperature in the pipe, and when there is enough hot water, a low pressure pump then pumps the water to the centra coil tank, the water goes through the coil, that heats the water in the tank

for complete off the grid solution, add a solar hot water system.
20 tubes for a 200+ltr tank
30 tubes for a 300+ltr tank
the sensors only work if your stove is not on so you don't boil the water

1kW of hot water heats 100+lts of water.
Example: an esse has a 2.8kW wet back, you would use a 315ltr tank
